Information Sharing
Your details will be reviewed by the Events Safety Advisory Group (Thanet District Council, Kent Fire and Rescue, Kent Highways, Kent Police, RNLI and other relevant organisations). Your information will not be passed on to any other party without your prior consent.
Temporary Event Notice
Events that include the following activities will also require a Temporary Event Notice
● Sale and supply of alcohol
● Provision of late night refreshments to the public
● Regulated entertainment
Safety Advisory Groups will not undertake any role associated with the organisation or management of an event and completion and return of this form does not remove the need to obtain the relevant consents and licences, the responsibility for which ultimately rests with the event organiser. By notifying the authority of an event this in no way absolves the organiser from any health and safety responsibility nor does it infer that Thanet District Council has any responsibility for health and safety in relation to the event. Event organisers are strongly recommended to visit the HSE website which gives advice on running events safely.
What documentation do you need to fill in?
The documentation you will need to upload is listed on the right-hand side of this page. On completion of your application you will be asked to upload these documents. Please read the guidance documents provided these will be able to assist you with filling in your documentation.

Road closures
All road closures applications require 12 weeks notice.
Review the guidance on the type of closure you will need for your event:
Kent County Council - Temporary Traffic Regulation Order
Sporting, leisure, social or entertainment events on the highway require the use of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. (e.g. cycle races, triathlons, running races)
Thanet District Council - Town Police Clauses Act
Events that involve processions, rejoicing, illuminations or ‘thronging’ will generally use the Town Police Clauses Act 1847 (e.g. carnivals, Christmas Light Switch On, Remembrance Day events).
