Welcome to the Islington Parks Event Office
If you would like to organise an event in one of our parks you will need to apply for council permission through EventApp.
Please note the process to get consent for a park event usually takes at least six weeks, longer for larger or more complex events, and you need formal approval before you can start advertising your event.
To use EventApp you will need to register your details and create a log in. To do this click on 'Make an Application', this will take you to the registration page.
Applying
Once registered, to start your application, click on the 'Make an Application' button on your home page and complete the questions in the form providing as much detail as possible.
There are information buttons to the right of each question which will help you complete your answers.
Along with your application we also require a risk assessment, site plan, noise checklist and event plan. Templates of most of these documents are available to download on the right hand side. These can be uploaded through the supporting documents page of the application. We can send you a site plan of the park you want to have an event in, just email us at park.events@islington.gov.uk. You will also be required to purchase Public Liability Insurance for your event.
Please be aware that we are unable to open some Mac specific document types, such as .pages, so only upload Windows compatible documents.

Please ensure you click on the 'Submit' button at the end of the Declaration page or your application will remain in 'draft' status. We only deal with submitted applications.
There are fees associated with your event - costs are confirmed on application and the application fee is non-refundable.
What’s next
Once you’ve clicked on Submit, you will receive a confirmation email summarising your event, including a checklist of activities that we need more details about in your Event Plan. This email is not consent for your event to go ahead. If you don't receive this email check you have definitely clicked on 'Submit' and that it hasn't gone into your spam / junk folder.
Notification emails These are generated every time someone sends you a message in EventApp. They will come from no-reply@apply4.com usually. Make sure you allow all emails from @apply4.com or you may miss important or urgent messages from the council about your event.
Unfortunately you can't reply directly to emails from no-reply@apply4.com (they will bounce back). To read and respond to messages sent in EventApp you can click on the link in the notification email.

Once the application has been submitted it will appear in your homepage with a ‘New’ status. Once the status has changed from ‘New’ it means someone in the Events Team is looking at it and you will need to request access to make changes, but this is very easy to do. You can upload new documents at any time without special access though.
If the team are happy with your application and supporting documents (site plan, event plan, noise checklist and risk assessment) and the Application fee has been paid, the consultation will be started. Your application and supporting documents are shared with various relevant teams inside and outside the council and feedback is requested. This consultation period lasts approximately two weeks although it can be longer depending on questions raised and the speed of response.
Some events may also require applicants to attend a Safety Advisory Group (SAG) meeting where council teams and police come together to discuss the event with the applicant in more detail. These are usually held online.
A SAG meeting may be called for reasons such as;

A SAG meeting may be called for reasons such as;
- the audience size is over 1000 people
- the event is over more than one day
- event set up and set down runs over several days
- the event may have a significant impact on the local area
- there is an increased security risk
Additional information required
While the consultation is underway, additional information may be requested by the team and uploaded by the applicant. This depends on which activities you choose to have at your event, and there are some deadlines for submission. For example food information must be submitted no later than two weeks before the event date.
In some cases you may need to apply for a separate licence from a different council team. For example, to have music or sell alcohol, you may need to submit a Temporary Events Notice to the Licensing Team and for a bouncy castle you may need to apply for a Temporary Structure Licence.
To check if you will need to provide further information or apply for separate licences and the time it takes to receive them, please see the downloadable document to the right (No. 5). Additional fees may apply.
You can upload further supporting documentation at any time regardless of your application status (subject to deadlines) - remember that templates and guidance about many documents we need can be downloaded from the list on the right hand side.
