Welcome to ORNC FilmApp

Welcome to the Old Royal Naval College, a truly unique location for your next filming project. Situated in the heart of Greenwich, London, our historic site boasts breath-taking architecture and stunning riverfront views, providing the perfect backdrop for any production.

With a rich and varied history spanning over 500 years, the Old Royal Naval College has played a significant role in shaping the cultural and architectural heritage of London. Originally built as a hospital for injured sailors in the late 17th century, the site was later transformed into a naval college for the education of young officers. Today, the Old Royal Naval College is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, attracting visitors from all over the world.

Our grounds have been transformed into the sets and backdrops for many of the biggest films around in recent years including major blockbusters like Les Misérables, Four Weddings and a Funeral, Pirates of the Caribbean 4, The King’s Speech, Thor: the Dark World, Bridgerton, The Crown and Sherlock Holmes.

Filming at the Old Royal Naval College doesn’t always come easily.  With some of the finest examples of Sir Christopher Wren’s architecture dating back to 1696 and as an integral part of a World Heritage Site, the Greenwich Foundation’s core responsibilities are for the conservation and protection of the historic fabric, both the interiors of the Painted Hall and Chapel as well as exteriors, and for providing public access as one of London’s leading visitor attractions and as a university campus.   Through careful planning and negotiation with the filming team great sets and stages have been created – transforming the ORNC at the Director’s request.

Whether you're looking to film a historical drama, period piece, or modern blockbuster, the Old Royal Naval College has a variety of locations and settings to suit your needs.
